Marceal P. Luepke

Marceal P. Luepke, age 100, of Clear Lake, Fremont, Indiana, and formerly of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, was called to her eternal glory on Friday, November 9, 2018, while at Kingston of Dupont, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Marceal was born on June 24, 1918 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of Louis C. and Ella (Bleeke) Gerke, they preceded her in death.

She graduated in 1934 from the Ft. Wayne Lutheran Institute (Concordia High School).

Marceal married the love of her life Martin Luepke on June 22, 1940 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and their marriage was blessed with two children, Janice and Donald, Martin preceded her in death on March 10, 2010.

Marceal and Martin lived in Ft. Wayne for many years, they later retired to Clear Lake in Steuben County, Indiana. Marceal enjoyed sewing, crafts, traveling, photography, painting, and was a wonderful cook. She was an avid supporter of her church. She was a charter member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Fremont, Indiana. She was very involved at church, helping with the senior ministry, planning social events, in the welcoming of visitors, and serving on the evangelism team of the church. She also was a charter member of the Steuben County Women’s Club. Marceal and her husband Martin, wintered for many years in Ft. Myers, Florida, and were associate members of Zion Lutheran Church in Ft. Myers, Florida.

Survivors include her children, Janice (Tom) Nowakowski, and Donald (Ellen) Luepke, both of Clear Lake, Fremont, Indiana, four grandchildren, Leanne, Matthew, Rebecca, and Nathan, eight great-grandchildren, Patrick, Jessie, Miranda, Daniel, James, Danielle, Lukas, and Caleb, five step-grandchildren, Brian, Amy, Joseph, Kathryn, and Colleen, and many step-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Gerke, a grandson, Timothy Shough, and a step-great-grand-daughter, Ashley Mattia.

Calling hours will be held from 4 pm to 7 pm Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Peace Lutheran Church, Fremont, Indiana, with Pastor Jeffrey Teeple officiating. There will be additional calling prior to the services, from 10 am until 11 am Wednesday, at the church.

Interment will follow the services at the Clear Lake Lutheran Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana.
