Frances J. Yordan was born on a homestead in Sechelt, British Columbia on May 8, 1921 and passed away on March 7, 2018 at the age of 96 in Fresno, CA.

She moved to Modesto, Ca. where she was captain of her high school tennis team.

As a young woman she moved to Fresno and found the love of her life Arthur. They married in the Greek Church and Frances became very active in the St. George community. She taught Sunday school, was President of the Daughters of Penelope and of the Athena Philoptohos. She was a long time member and president of the LARCS (aiding special needs children). One of her greatest joys was her 23 years with AFS. She was Central California Area rep, placing hundreds of foreign exchange students in valley homes over the years.

She and Arthur spent the rest of their lives receiving wedding invites from all over the world. In 1990 she was selected Philoptohos Mother of the Year. She was a voracious reader, wrote a novel and was a multiple published poet.

She leaves behind her son Mark and his wife Michele; grandchildren Alex, Kristie and Antonella; great granddaughter Christine; nephew Tim Hunt and many beloved family and friends.

Seeing your mom at St Agnes brought back memories of seeing her at Bullard Village Drug when I worked there long ago. From one only child, who recently went through the same, to another sincere condolences.
