OBITUARY

Gerard Lawrence Lozano

May 11, 1970October 1, 2020

Born on May 11, 1970, in Fresno, California to Michael and Dolores Lozano, Gerard was the fourth of five boys. Gerard loved life and had the ability to add happiness and smiles to everyone he met. His wedding in 2002 was a “Beautiful Day” as he married the love of his life, Donna. Gerard loved to create nicknames for those close to him and thought that the name “Dolly” was perfect for Donna! Together, the two of them created many happy memories together.

Gerard started his career as the Governmental Affairs Director and had recently been promoted to Executive Vice President of the Fresno Association of REALTORS®, an organization Gerard has been employed with for over 20 years. Gerard worked with many REALTORS®, legislative representatives, community members and staff, making his impression on all. Gerard has been a life-long Raiders and San Francisco Giants fan. Music played a large part in Gerard’s life, as a musician, drummer and a fan of U2, a band he saw multiple times. Gerard brought so much joy to our lives and leaves us all with joyful memories and stories. While Gerard’s time with us was far too brief, his journey was filled with joyful memories that will never be forgotten. The quality of Gerard’s life’s story far exceeds the quantity of days he walked with us. His story reminds us how to celebrate every day as a precious gift from God.

Gerard is survived by his loving wife Donna Lozano, parents Michael and Dolores Lozano, brothers Daniel, David and wife Marisela, Raymond and wife Kristin, & Benjamin and wife Esmeralda, sister in law Linda Donabed and husband Jim, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

I, sadly, did not know Gerard, but I remember Dolores and Mike from OLV many years ago. My heartfelt condolences to you and all your family, especially Donna. You will be in my thoughts and prayers, now and especially in May. I had been enjoying his commercials on KYNO and have missed hearing his warm and friendly voice (I thought he might be one of yours!). Right away I wondered if all was not right, and am now hearing why. So wonderful to hear all the beautiful memories. You both did a great job, it sounds; but no surprise, as you are both lovely people yourselves. May God bless you with peace and strength, and may He keep you all in the palm of His Hand.

I send heartfelt sympathy to Gerard’s wonderful family. Twas great fun knowing
Gerard all these years! At London Properties He magnificiently ran the fantastic”store” and also had his band entertain us at parties. He was so cool/ snd so much fun! Needless to say , his being a. part of / and eventually in “charge of” our Board Of Realtors was,, indeed, just the “greatest joy”and thrill for me - as he was so deserving - and made me so very proud of Gerard, such a dear friend all these very precious years! .To Know how much he loved his job -and excelled at it was a “BLESSING TO US. ALL”- and so much appreciated! Kindest regards , Pat Howe

I will miss Gerard immensely. He is gone way before his time. I wish Donna and his family the deepest condolences. I recall back in 2010 at the depth of the last market downturn. I came to Gerard with a request to help publicize the Project Homeowner event amongst the attendees of Tuesday 8:30 AM MLS meetings. Gerard could not have been more helpful, kind, and understanding. He did whatever we needed to get done to make the event a success. Gerard was that kind of guy. Roll your sleeves up and get it done type of guy. RIP, buddy...we will miss you greatly!

Gerard was definitely one of a kind. Always could be found with a smile, great jokes to lighten any occasion or event and a willing hand. He was so helpful to me personally while I was on the Board. Gerard make me feel so important and welcome.... thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and friendship. You will truly be missed by me and I’m sure by everyone that had the pleasure to meet you ❤️

Gerard. ..the first time I met you, you were nervous about playing your drums for a FAR function. You did great, as you did on everything thereafter when it came to the board. We got to know you and Dolly quickly thereafter and there was never a minute that we didn’t enjoy every second with you and Dolly. When we became your neighbors it was so much fun. You welcomed us, played right center with us in our back yard after your walks, every Halloween we’d join together at your front deck and hand out candy and of course have copious quantities of wine, (so much fun) dined out together, made great eggnog together, swam, spinned and laughed together ; dined together, in our homes, watched your fabulous tv together, loved your Vinnie together and each other, New Years, Christmas and birthdays. So much more, like gambling, the coast at Julie’s, weddings and impromptu get togethers. We will forever love and miss Gerard. We will not stop loving and having you with us. Wherever you are he will be there. The world has lost an incredible man and friend. Our hearts are broken.

Thank you Gerard for your friendship and all of the wonderful memories we have of many shared adventures . We had the greatest laughs as well as plenty of shared "side jokes". You are so missed and we are not sure how a world without Gerard Lozano will look but are certain a sparkle is missing. We will continue to hold you in our hearts and feel so blessed to have had you as a friend. Donna, we love you and stand beside you as we all travel this new path. Our sincere condolences to the entire Lozano Family.
Cheers to you Gerard!
Thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Love, Nanci and Hawk
