Glynn Laroy Polacek, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. Glynn was born on April 30, 1927 in Leuders, Texas to Frank and Pauline Polacek. He spent the majority of his adult life in Fresno, California with his wife, Modie Polacek.
Glynn was a Navy veteran, serving in World War II, as well as a free mason, and a fierce Democrat who never shied away from a political conversation. He had a number of careers in his lifetime. After retiring from the Fresno Bee in 1990, Glynn spent his time with his wife and their many friends in and around the Fresno area. Glynn was very active, taking daily mile-long walks and playing golf into his later years. He also enjoyed watching football (the Cowboys specifically), drinking beer and eating ice cream.
Glynn was many things - funny, stubborn, loving, mischievous, loyal, and kind. He was, and is, loved greatly by his family. He is survived by his daughter, Glenna and her husband Dan; his granddaughter, Chelsea and her wife, Lony; and his great-grandchildren Trevor, Teresa, Madison, Esme and Aoife.
