Kenneth Eugene Fairless, 71, passed away peacefully Sunday morning at Kaiser Hospital in Fresno, CA. He was born in Fresno on December 2nd, 1947 to Virgil and Edith. Ken was a graduate of Tranquility High School and went on to work at San Jose Mercury News in press maintenance.

In the Fall of 1997, Ken started dating the love of his life Connie. Throughout their relationship, Connie and Ken created wonderful memories with their family and friends hunting in Wishon, camping in Pismo, taking the occasional trip to Vegas, spoiling their dog Lucy, and making each other happy. They married on July 24th, 2012 at their home in Fresno. Ken was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 2012. Doctor’s gave him several months to live, but Ken misheard them and lived for several years more. Ken didn’t let the chemo slow him down. He continued to do everything he could to help his loved ones and enjoy life to the fullest. He will always be remembered for his selfless nature, positive attitude, and contagious laughter. Ken’s journey is a testament to the strength of love and the power of the human spirit.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Edith and his son Steven.

He is survived by his wife Connie, mother-in-law Marge, brothers Allen and Mario (Susan), daughter TeAnn Lakeotes, sons Chad Fairless, Mike (Sara) Flynn, and Kevin Flynn, 9 grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.

I remember Kenny as long as I have memory. We grew up together, with his living just down the street. I remember the childhood pranks and the likeable person he always was...everyone liked Kenny even as a child and throughout all the school years. When I married his cousin, we became family and it seemed naturally so. Ken's children and ours were close in age and grew close. We spent several years with family gatherings, deer hunting and visiting him and his family. I will miss his quick wit, his laughter and smile, as well as his wisdom. I send my Love and condolences to his loving family. My heart and prayers are with you. Jeannie Fairless

Met Kenny and Connie at Wishon when they camped behind us. Kenny's laugh was so contagious it would ring through the RV sites drawing everyone in. The kindness and laughterand was what we all looked forward to every deer season. Their campsite is always full of guys telling hunting stories and women doing crafts or just enjoying the sunshine they share. We will miss you but know you're are be in God's loving embrace. We all will continue to to take care of our sister Connie and remember one of the most brightest stars in our lives. Rest in peace with our Lord God.
