Manuel Garcia Archuleta, age 95, he passed away in the early morning from complications of dementia. Born in Dawson, New Mexico October 15, 1927, to Seledon and Lugardita Archuleta. He started working at a young age in the mines and enlisted in the Army in 1946 during World War II. After his service, he called Fresno, CA his home. He was employed for many years by the Agriculture Dept. at Fresno State University. He was the irrigation lead that watered the growing crops including the infamous sweet corn. Manuel was a devoted father and family man. Spiritually involved in many church activities at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. An avid gardener who loved tending to his trees and plants in his free time.
Manuel is survived by his children Sharon Archuleta, Manuel F. Archuleta Jr., Esequiel (Zeke) Archuleta, Maricela Archuleta (Cruz), and Sonia Archuleta (Moreno); six grandchildren. Also by many who cared and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife Bertha Archuleta.
A visitation for Manuel will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2023 starting at 3:00 pm and followed by the a rosary at 7:00 pm Lisle Funeral Home, 1605 "L" Street, Fresno CA 93721. Funeral Mass will occur Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Queen of Apostles, 4636 W. Dakota Ave., Fresno, CA 93722. Manuel will be laid to rest in St. Peter's Cemetery.
