He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Sandy and their two children, Amanda Tumbiolo (Mike) and Nick Yeram; his five grandchildren, Payton, Whitney, Madison, Logan and Scarlett; two sisters Adrienne Haines and Sylvia Kurrels (Peter), and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Roy grew up as a boy in Malaga and moved to Sunnyside where he attended Sanger High School and graduated in 1965. Following graduation Roy proudly served in The Fresno Air National Guard and began a lifelong career in real estate related fields including owner/broker of Century 21 office, general contractor, and HUD property and subdivision development.
Roy and Sandy traveled with their children when they were young and later enjoyed R.V. trips, Costa Rico vacations, road trips and loved spending time at their happy place in Shell Beach. They loved their evening cruises on Woodward Lake with their kids, grandkids, friends and their little fur babies Belle and Sophie.
Roy’s time on his Harley was paramount including his Iron Butt Cross County achievements at 63 years young. Roy was also an avid “car guy” cherishing his car collection, cruising in his “vette”, attending Pismo Car Shows, enjoying his car and Harley clubs and all the friends he made.
Roy’s willingness to give back to the Fresno Community was always apparent. He was a devoted member of the Fresno Breakfast Lions for over 40 years. He enjoyed his assignments as a Citizen on Patrol (COP) for the Fresno Police Department as well as with the CHP volunteer program.
Roy will be remembered for his quick wit, sense of humor and for remembering and telling the best jokes and stories of his life. He was blessed with many friends and will be truly missed.
