Norma "Fern" Torian

Norma Fern Torian was born to Millard and Velma Smith on August 29, 1937 in Weinert, TX. She grew up in Rochester, TX. Fern was a mischievous child, she and her sisters were collectively known as The Smith Girls. She married Samuel Torian in Corpus Christi, TX on October 24, 1963 and combined their two families together. The family was a large one with Fern’s two boys and Samuel’s three boys and later they had their only daughter, Kelly.

Sometimes known as Fernie Bob, she was ornery, stubborn and wanted things her own way. She loved the Dallas Cowboys, watching television, eating candy, country music and going shopping. Fern was often an accidental comedian and loved to spend time with her grandchildren.

Fern is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Torian; parents, Millard and Velma Smith; son, Michael Farrar; and sisters, Joann Dutton and Peggy Landes.

She is survived by her son, William Farrar & his wife Rachel of Granbury, TX; daughter, Kelly Foster & her husband Alan of McKinney, TX; grandchildren, Jacquie, Austin, and Cortni Dru; and stepsons, Richard Torian, Steven Torian, and Patrick Torian along with many other family members.

I always looked forward to Uncle Sam and Aunt Fern coming to Michigan. The guys would play golf and of course the girls would Shop. Aunt Fern could some real damage. I love you Aunt Fern and have missed you since Sam's passing and will continue to miss you both.💕💕
