OBITUARY

Edith Pearl Pool

August 30, 1928September 9, 2019

Edith Pool died Monday morning, September 9, 2019 at 5:10 am at Life Care Center of Casper. She was born in Linwood, Kansas on August 30, 1928 to Donald Fayette Siscoe and Nellie May Hubbard Siscoe. She was the middle of 5 children, with both a brother and sister older and younger. Nellie Rosell Lucas is the only surviving sibling and Edith is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Jane Siscoe.

She married William Arnold Pool, her high school sweetheart, on May 1, 1948. Her lifelong dream was to have 5 children, the same as her mother. Her entire life was devoted to her husband and children – Cathy, Sheila, Brenda, Bill and Melanie – and later to her 19 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Bill and Edith did everything together and focused on raising their family. They were active in the church, attending Sunday school and church services Sunday mornings, inviting friends and elderly acquaintances to Sunday dinner, leading the Youth Fellowship Group on Sunday evenings and helping with church socials. Edith loved to sing. Her children often woke up to her singing in the mornings. Nights were like the Walton Family with each person saying goodnight to everyone else in the house. Christmases were memorable, not for presents, but for traditions that everyone has continued to celebrate. Later in life, Bill and Edith enjoyed traveling, camping and family reunions. Bill passed away on November 3, 2006.

Edith celebrated her 90th birthday at Mike Sedar Park in Casper last year. 57 people attended her party. 45 of them were from Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota and Texas. She lived her life full of love and everyone loved her.

She attended Highland Park Community Church with her daughter, Cathy, and other family members. When she was no longer able to go to church she was visited by Pastor Don and his associates. Edith lived her life full of love for God, family and friends. Everyone loved her dearly. She prayed for God to take her to heaven and her prayer was answered peacefully in her sleep. Edith was truly blessed!

We are very sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I worked with her at Steele's (and also with Brenda & Melanie). She was a sweetheart- I just remember her always smiling and never complaining. I'm sure all your happy memories will help you get through this difficult time.
Sincerely, Cyndi (Newkirk)Scott and Terry Scott

Thoughts and prayers to the Pool family. Sorry to hear about Edith but she is no longer in pain. It has been years since I had seen her but so nice keeping in contact and seeing recent pictures.
