Well dad , its 2022 . I am still missing you like crazy . I get by better as the years go by . But you are on my mind 24/7 . We are still farming the property and still running the fence company . We are making a good name for the company we started years ago . Im slowly building up farm equipment again to were i can buy more cattle to keep on the farm . I plan to build a home this year . Keeping the McLain farm and name alive . Those boots you left me to fill are still here . Doing my best to fill them . Really wish you were still here with me . I miss hearing your voice and seeing you walking around the farm . But i fell your presents here all the time . I still look over hoping this bad dream i will wake up from and see you well and home with us again . But i realize its not a dream anymore . I miss all the good and bad times we had together , i was sure looking forward to spending another 20 yrs with you . I miss you and love you . Im glad you are still watching over me . And thank you for being my dad . 

Its almost 2 yrs . Since you been gone . I still miss you every day . Building fence without you is hard . Taking care of the farm as well , i remember going to rake hay while you baled . All the nights of hauling square bales . Driving by your house on my way home and seeing you sitting by the pair tree drinking tea so i would turn around and come back and sit with you and chat . I will always remember you taking me to work with you at harbison-walker for a tour of the building where i planned to work with you one day . We chose the path later to go into the fence business together and it was not my dream job but i know it was yours and i didnt want you to do it alone . We teamed up and had many many good days of building . I kept the business going with tammy helping me . I miss you all day . I remember the trips to the sale barn to sell piglets and the trips all over town , back then you didnt need seatbelts so i would stand in the seat right next to you and wore out the seat with my shoes . Lol i wanted to see where we were going . I sure miss you dad . I hope i made you proud . You were the best dad i could of asked for . Keep heavens gate working flawless . I love and miss you . Rest easy and enjoy heaven . 

I remember our camping trips to barryman mo . Horse back riding the trails and camping . Bob gowins always knocked our tents down on us kids and would laugh for a long time as a joke on us . Many familys joined us there . It was a very fun and memorable time . I remember most working with my dad . Its for sure not the same without him . 


Dad, we had many conversations about your final days. We didn’t always agree on how it should be. One thing we did agree on was that we could go to God with our desires.
Our family life was far from perfect, but that’s the stuff that makes us family.
Your greatest desire was for your children to find a way to get along.
You were so concerned that you would end up alone, out in a field, or somewhere on the job site, when God would call you home. 
And we might not know where to find you. Or that you wouldn’t make it back in the house each evening from doing your nightly chores. 
Winter was the hardest, as you couldn’t bear the thought of laying out there all night, or into the afternoon, before someone would realize they didn’t get your early morning call.  God above all knew your greatest fear.
One thing is for sure; God knew your heart and had a plan all along. 
If left up to me, I wouldn’t have chosen this path leading up to that evening of your parting.
But God knew what was best, in bringing answers to our prayers. 
Tuesday night was very hard. These last few days, I’m sure your watching Gods healing hand, as your children’s relationships are being restored.
Early Friday morning about 1 am,  I was rudely awakened by what I thought was a Lighting Storm. Which turned out to be my cell phone that lays nicely by my bed side every night in case of an emergency call. 
There was Kathy, Jackie, John and our Mom, blowing up my phone in delirious, sleep deprived glee. So I chimed in. 
I was really dreading the day when it was your time to go. For all I could see, was it was going to be hard. But I can honestly say, I’m Amazed at what our God can do, when we but go to HIM in prayer 🙏🏼. I Love you and Miss you Dad.

Grandpa, I love you. I miss you. I share a piece of you with all who walk this beautiful ground. You left me speachless, not a noise; not a sound. I carry you in my heart; This way I know, we will never be apart. You are no longer with us in body, but present with the lord. That is where you belong, you are now His shepherd, to care for heavens farm.  We will always miss your big hugs, and how they were always so warm. My heart is torn, but time wont heal; the loss we all share, and the days we will mourn. You were the most hard working man I know, from dusk to dawn. Its time to rest now, you have time to yawn. You dont have to stretch any fence, or drive any post. Your soul we will miss, but the Lord needed you most. Your time here is done, you left this world for a while, now you are welcomed home, with the Lord's warm smile.  Take care of heavens farm for us okay? When I come to join you I'll feed the chickens and you can bale the hay. 

I remember gettin in the old red farm truck on a hot summer day. We were having a great time. We went to Lauras to pick up some eggs. Or something. I saw rabbits in a cage. I talked you into letting me have one. You chuckled and smiled and told me to "pick one already, we aint got all day". With laughter behind. I picked out a baby bunny so fluffy so grey. I named him Timmothy. He was perfect in every way. He was the best gift, you made my day. Thank you grandpa, for always thinking about me. Thank you for loving me when I felt unwanted on those emotional summer days. Thank you for dancing with me to RFD Tv. You taught me a lot of moves; our favorite was the 'Two Step'. 
You will always be the hardworking man that I will hold standard to all the men who cross my life; and I will always be your little black sheep, with big green eyes. 
I love you papa, its time to rest. Goodnight to Earth, Good morning in heaven.

He was the best friend i could ever have , he means the world to me . I miss him like crazy as he was my mentor, i will always remember our daily calls and us working together every day . And ill always remember your smile .your the best dad . I love you , and miss you so much . You left big shoes for me to fill , i will make you proud , i promise .

My thoughts & prayers are with all of you.  I will always remember him with a smile on his face.  He will be missed.
