Funeral services will be Sunday, July 8, 2018, at 2 p.m., at Collier-Butler Chapel for Gladys Augelene Naylor Fry, 91, of Rainbow City, who passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018. The Rev. Kenneth Lasseter and the Rev. Ernest Campbell will officiate. Interment will be at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Arrangements under the direction of Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services.
Gladys was a longtime member of Old Harmony Baptist Church. She enjoyed being a secretary to her husband at the Roscoe Fry Trucking Company. She loved to garden, sew, and cook. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the "apple of her eye."
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Fry; son, the Rev. Kenneth Fry; son-in-law, Richard Betts; great-granddaughter, Katherine Nicole Fry; two brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include her son, the Rev. Johnny (Debbie) Fry; daughter-in-law, Donna Fry; daughter, Janice Betts; son, Jerry (Marla) Fry; grandchildren, David Fry, Daryl Fry, Lisa Fry Chadwick, Steven Fry, Heather Fry McCormick, Angie Moore Loucks, Lindsey Betts, Sarah Fry Hickman, Terisa Fry Roberts; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Fry, Dylan Swindall, Baylon Fry, Jesse Fry, Austin McCormick, Kaleb Lackey, and Brandon & Brady Kiker.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Gadsden Health & Rehabilitation Center and Alacare Hospice.
The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
