Sharon Lynn Scales

Sharon Lynn (Sherry) Scales, age 62, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Gadsden Health and Rehab Center, where she had resided for the past 5 years. "Sissy", as she was affectionately known, was born a special child with special needs. A graveside service will be held at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Gadsden, AL on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. Collier-Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will accept friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the graveside.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Nellie (Mickey) Ashley Scales; her special aunt, Mary (aunt Monk) Ashley; and her paw paw and granny, Rob and Etoil Ashley.

She is survived by her brother, Tim Scales; one aunt, Faye Ashley; and many cousins.

She is now at home with her loving family, and the angels are rejoicing with them.

Tim wishes to thank the many nurses and staff at GHRC for their care for sharon over the past 5 years. Many of you went above and beyond to help and care for her. Her parents and aunt took care of her special needs from her birth until their health prevented them from meeting her many needs. Her brother Tim was responsible for her care the last 10 years she was at home until his health began failing. Tim wishes to thank the home caregivers that helped him through the years. A very special thank you to Nancy, Lynn and Shelby for their special care and helping Tim keep her at home the last 4 years she was able to stay at home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery fund in her honor.
