Jerry proudly served our country in the U.S. Marine Corp. He loved his dog, Luke. He was active in his church, New Life Church in Roebuck. He was a devoted family man and loved his family dearly.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, James Harry Dickinson.
Jerry is survived by his mother, Dortha Kimbrell Dickinson; his loving wife of 46 years, Sarah C. Dickinson; a son, Gregory Dickinson (Kimberly), a daughter, Kim Hurst (Tim), a brother, Don Dickinson (Grace), three sisters, Laura Strubel, Harriet Tarpley (Tom), Mary Ann Wimberly; four grandchildren, Laura Dickinson, Elizabeth Dickinson, Kyle Hurst, and Kayla Hurst.
Celebration of Life services will be held at New Life Church, 400 Roebuck Parkway, Birmingham, AL, with a time of visitation on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm; service on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 11:00 am and he will lie in state an hour prior. Burial will be in Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo, AL
