To Mrs Akers and family, we send you our deepest sympathies. We didnt know Mr Akers long as a friend and neighbor, but we knew him long enough to know that he was a kind, caring and christian man. We know he will be missed by all who knew him. The last time I saw him was in the Rehab Center, my mom was there for therapy after a triple bypass operation, and she and I walked down to Mr Akers room to visit him. Our love and prayers are with all of you and we are just across the street if Mrs Akers needs us for anything.

Glenda, Linda & Randy:
I am so sorry for the loss of your husband, daddy, and granddaddy. Our hearts ache with each of you but we do have one consolation that we will see John again one day and he is already rejoicing with family members that have gone on to be with the Lord. I know that it is very hard not to mourn his death and we should, be we can be thankful of one thing, he has a brand new body now and is no more pain nor suffering.
Linda, I tried to contact you to let you know why I was not there, but couldn't get any answers so I left a message, but you probably didn't get it. I had surgery Friday and was in the bed Fri & Sat. Please know that my prayers were and are with you now. It will be a though few weeks to go through, but you can make it with God's help. I know, I have handled it with my whole family. I do still have Don and my girls, but that is extent of family for me.
Please let Glenda & Randy know that I love all of you and would have been there but circumstances were out of my control.

We will all miss sweet Uncle John. He and I talked about going 'home' and that we were both 'prepared' to go but didn't want to leave just quite yet. And we got a chuckle out of that. But I can just image the sight of his reunion with family and his seeing the precious face of Jesus. I will miss his calls and his endearing concern for everyone in the family. God bless you, Uncle John. I loved you dearly. May you rest in peace.

To the entire family of Mr. Akers. My husband, John and I would love to express our sympathy to all of you and to say we will always remember what a kind, sweet man your husband, father, grand and great-grandfather, uncle, and brother Mr. Akers has always been to us. I first met him at Pineywood Baptist Church where he was known as the "chewing gum man". He gave all the kids a "stick of gum" on Sunday morning before church but for some reason he gave our daughter, Mandi, a pack of gum and a $1and she continues to love him very much. Up to the last time we talked with him he still asked us about Mandi. We all loved him and will miss him. Our prayers are with all of you.

Glenda, Linda and Randy,
We are so sad at the passing of John , our dear friend and neighbor. We have lived next door to each other for fifty wonderful years and always said we would never move unless we could take them with us. We loved their children and grandchildren and they loved ours. May God hold each of you in the Palm of His Hand.
