Bob proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War with the 720th MP Battalion. He retired from the Birmingham Police Department and finished his career as a bailiff at the Jefferson County Courthouse. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and he was so proud of his family that he loved so dearly. He attended Temple Hill Baptist Church and he loved the beach and taking family vacations.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Hercule and Kathleen Henslee. He is survived by his loving wife, Edwina Henslee, whom he celebrated a 50th anniversary with on September 4th this year. He also leaves behind a son, Chris Henslee and his wife Tracey; a daughter, Heather Curtis and James; a brother, Raymond Henslee and his wife Ruth; a sister, Kay Woodis and her husband Ronnie; four grandchildren, Dallas Curtis, Abigail Curtis, Price Henslee, and Emory Henslee; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Special thanks to the staff of Comfort Care Hospice, family, and friends who supported us throughout his illness.
