J. B. Weaver

J. B. Weaver, 87, of Kings Mountain, passed away peacefully at The Testa Family Hospice House, in Kings Mountain, on Thursday July 26, 2018. J. B. was a proud American who served his country in the United States Navy. He was a career submariner. J. B. was a great cook and he enjoyed gardening. His family says he could build or fix just about anything. He was an unselfish man who adopted, raised and educated four children. He maintained membership in the Fleet Reserve Association and the American Legion following his 20 year career in the Navy. J. B. will be missed by those who knew and loved him most.
J. B. is the son of the late Corrie (Huffstetler) and Ira Allen Weaver. He was also preceded in death by a sister – Mary Sue Carroll.
Left to cherish his memory, and to carry on his legacy, are his wife of 37 years, Sue (Millen) Weaver, daughter Martha K. Weaver, sons Thomas E. Weaver, Carlos L. Weaver and Craig Weaver and sister Helen W. Chaney. J. B. leaves behind six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather to remember J. B. at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday July 31, 2018 at the graveside. J. B. will be buried in the Evergreen Garden of Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 S. New Hope Road, Gastonia. Dr. Steve Taylor, of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, will offer words of encouragement and hope to family and friends who gather to remember J. B. Full military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Navy and the Gaston County Honor Guard.

The family of J. B. Weaver has entrusted his care to the staff at the Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park. We are deeply honored.

He said "you didn't let me smile" lol. The smell of homeade cinnamon rolls will always remind me of the ones he made for us every time we came to visit. Riding in his old truck down those hilly country roads hoping to make it to our destination...lol watching over the pecan tree he rooted for me 10+ years ago and trying to grow the Japanese maples I got last time I saw him. So many great memories. Thanks grandaddy.
