Obituary of Deirdre Anice Bolling
Deirdre Bolling ascended into the arms of our heavenly father on Wednesday, July 27th, at the age of 79 years young, after losing a valiant battle with leukemia. She was surrounded by three of her loving daughters at the time of her passing. Deirdre lived a full and rich life, was a keeper of the historical importance of the family lineage, and her Russian/Ukrainian and Finnish heritage, and immensely proud of her six children and her eleven grandchildren. She never needed an excuse to spend the day shopping or hosting a tea party for friends or family. Her love of wildlife was magical, no matter where she was, she was able to connect with deer, owls, feral cats, and most especially hummingbirds! She and those close to her believed that these beautiful creatures were really her late husband of 38 years, James, just returning to assure her that everything is OK. She was preceded in death by, her parents George and Alice (Kokonen) Zubok, husband James, as well as most recently her beloved sister Katherine Kotula, son-in-law, Lawrence Buszek, and dearly loved cat “Licorice” and dog “Laura Jane”. Deirdre is survived by her younger brother Paul Zubok, daughter Yvonne Buszek, son James, daughters Louann Greenfield, Kristina Case (Mark), Jennifer Davis (Rick), Heather Bolling, and her green anole lizard, “Rugless”, in addition to her eleven grandchildren; David, Elizabeth (Edmund), Zachary (Bailey), Jacob, Sarah, Meghan, Brandon, Thomas, Olivia, Isabella and Mallory as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. A tea party will be held in Deirdre’s honor and memory at the home of Jennifer and Rick Davis in Georgetown, Texas on Sunday, July 31st. All who knew her are invited to join the family. For more details and to RSVP, please send an email to deirdre@davisgrapevine.com. The family wishes to extend our deepest gratitude to the wonderful staff at MD Anderson in Houston who walked with Deirdre for nearly two years during this battle, and the good folks at St. David’s Hospice who were a true blessing and gift during her final days. A Celebration of Life will be held on her 80th birthday weekend, Saturday, September 17, 2022 in her beautiful home state of Michigan where she will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating platelets and/or blood, as there is currently a nationwide critical shortage. If unable to donate blood/platelets, donations to Donate MD Anderson Cancer Center or https://ferallifeguards.com/ are greatly appreciated and encouraged. Honor Deirdre’s legacy by having faith, trusting God’s love, nurturing all relationships, not sweating the small stuff, and simply making water available for the birds and wildlife! Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.cookwaldendavisfuneralhome.com for Deirdre's family.
