Online condolences may be left at Val was born to William ‘Curt’ and Lynn (Prickett) Gibb on February 14, 1985 in Scottsbluff, NE. She shared this with her twin brother Quentin. She graduated from Chappell High School in 2003. She married Dustin Fankhauser, January 29, 2005 in Lyman, NE and to this union were born Marissa, Grace and Hunter. Dustin and Val knew each other from elementary school and found each other in the same room for the first time in many years, they never looked back from that moment. It was the instant love at first sight at the most random timing. Dustin loved her more than anything and will see her beautiful soul again. Her children were her life and she took so much joy in being a mother. Her children will miss her dearly. Val Attended WNCC and Chadron State College and received her Associates of “Arts in 2016 and her Bachelor of Science in Education in 2018. She accomplished this being a wife and mother of three. Receiving her degree was important to her and she worked hard to attain it. She ran an in-home daycare for many years, she loved children so much. As a daycare provider, a GGSA softball coach or whatever it may have been, when she could teach and have fun she jumped on it. She was a kid at heart. She was hired as a teacher at Community Christian School where she could teach and share the gospel. Her faith and spreading God’s word was very important to her. She loved and cherished her students, the parents and the staff. They were all her friends. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Scottsbluff and served as a teacher for children in church. Val was a beautiful, caring and self-less, loving, funny, kind, and joyful and just an exceptional woman. She loved to hunt and fish, go camping, dancing, singing, holidays, her kid’s school functions, sports, and just being a friend. She did everything with a happy heart, a laugh, and a smile. She never saw a glass half-full or half-empty only that it could be refilled. Her trust and faith Christ kept the glass full. Be a bucket sharer she would say, give from yourself and you will be fulfilled. Val is survived by her husband Dustin and their children Marissa, Grace, and Hunter all of Gering; mother and stepfather Lynn and Dan Bailey of Castle Rock, CO; stepmother Lynette Gibb Swanson of Ogden, UT; maternal grandfather Howard Keith Pickett Sr. of Mitchell NE; twin brother Quentin (Samantha) Gibb of Richland, WA; sisters Katy (Kyle) Fody of Lingle WY., Mindy (Mike) Anderson of Wakefield, KS and Lyndsey Golden of Ogden, UT; nieces and nephews T.J. Carter, Will and Phoenix Gibb, Hope, Landen and Amelia Anderson, Kai, Lauren and Lane Fody, Jacoby Golden, Jayden and Aadesyn Lindley; father and mother-in-law Gerald and Donetta Fankhauser; brother-in-law Brandon Fankhauser, sister-in-law Megan (Robert) Lindley, all of Scottsbluff, NE; aunts and uncle Brenda Prickett of Gering, NE and Keith and Kathy Prickett of Mitchell, NE; special cousins TJ Prickett of Gilbert, AZ and Michael Barfield of Adel, GA. Special friend Jessica (Tyler) Schild of Brush, CO and their children Lexi, Sam, Liam (Godson), Jake (Godson) and Lucy and many other extended family and friends she leaves behind. Beautiful Val, I met her through my daughter-in-law, Jessica Schild. They were best friends and spent many days side by side working together. Two peas in a pod! Val was family! She was so down to earth and what a good sense of humor! So pretty , funny and sweet as honey! I don’t think any of our hearts will quite be the same! Love you, darlin! Much love to Dustin, Marissa, Gracie and Hunter! Rest easy, dearest Val, you are so loved!! ❣️💔 Stace

I am Marilynn Hess. I babysat Valorie and Quentin when they were little. I am so sorry for your loss. Valorie was such a little sweetheart growing up. I did not know her when she was an adult. The twins loved coming over in the mornings and we loved her during the day. She was a little lady. I can't believe she is no longer with us. Lynn my condolences. A big hug from us to the whole family.

My condolences to all of Valorie's families. You may not remember me, however I taught at Longfellow Elementary where I met Valorie and Quinten. Very nice young people. I also remember Megan and Dustin, also very nice students. I am so sorry for all families.

Val was a wonderful lady. I meet her many years ago, when she applied for a job at Grace Chapel child care. From a young age she had a passion for children. I loved hearing her tell stories to the little ones. Many years passed and she was going back to school to become a teacher! I am so proud of the woman she became, but more than that I loved to see her love for the Lord! She was truly a blessing! May the life she lived here on earth lead others to Christ, and trust God in knowing we will be with her again someday.

Val loved her family so much! I'm so glad I got to be a part of her church family. I will miss our children's church planning sessions that never failed to bring fun and laughter! I'm so blessed to have those moments with her. My prayers are with all those left behind.

It is still a shock to know that your gone. You are such an amazing person and you have a heart of gold. I am glad that I was able to have you and your family in my life for all these years. Watching the kids grow up together. You were like a second mother and home to my kids and they loved you very much. Especially nena as you watched her from just being six weeks old. She loved walking in your heels when she was finally able to walk and would always yell your name when she seen you so she could get her hug and kisses no matter where she was. You will always be her favorite person. I will always cherish the times that we had together, all the conversations, and dinners with you and Em that were always fun. You were always just a call or text away even helping me through the passing of my son. I thank you for being the most amazing friend and will miss you dearly. Prayers and hugs for Dustin and the kids during this hard time. We love you all.

Dear family of Valorie,
My heart breaks for each one of you in this time of grief for your precious wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, all. The last two times we were together hold monumental memories; at the funeral and celebration of life for my sister, Barbara (Valorie's grandmother) and at Valorie's college graduation. She was so good to my sister during her life, her illness and at the end of her life. She loved each and everyone of her family with all her heart and gave her time, talent and treasure. Her children were the light of her life. She loved the Lord beyond all and gave Him the glory for everything. To me she was both like a bright light and a busy hummingbird; involved in everything worthwhile. She was a servant who will be missed by family, friends, students, peers. She was made to be a teacher; deep thinker, easy sharer, with great sense of humor. You are my little hero, Valorie and left us all, too young. I will miss our conversations deeply. Rest in peace my beautiful niece. -Aunt Jane (Wilcox) Terry- Colorado Springs Colorado
