Jayne W. Spieker

Jayne W Spieker, a long-time resident of Az, passed away on March 30, 2021 after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her two daughters, Dianne Dominguez and Carolyn Chaney, her four granddaughters and her first great-grandson

Jayne was born in Orange, NJ in 1927 and spent her childhood moving from place to place because of her father’s job as a Pennys/Newberrys traveling manager. She spent most of her childhood in New York and Pennsylvania. Jayne graduated from Stetson University in 1948 and worked for a few years as a social worker in Florida

In 1951 she met married our father Robert Spieker. They eventually moved to a new “development” called Maryvale, which was for first time homeowners in Phoenix. There they enjoyed family life with their two daughters for 15 years. She began teaching for the Cartwright School District in 1964 and taught for 20+ years. She retired in 1985

Jayne kept very busy during her lengthy retirement-family was her main interest, but she also loved reading, jigsaw puzzles, cooking, playing games (especially Jeopardy, )and writing her memoirs. Jayne will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. She truly was blessed to have had such a full and interesting life. We love you, Mom and Grandmother and we will miss you

A Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary 7924 N. 59th Ave Glendale, Arizona, with a reception following the service. A graveside service will be held at 2pm Resthaven Park Cemetery 6450 W. Northern Ave Glendale, Arizona. Contributions in memory of Jayne can be made to the Salvation Army.
