To his friends in California he was known as Cliff but to his family members he was Billy as a boy and Bill as he got older. He joined the Marine Corps shortly after high school and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was able to take an early retirement from GTE which allowed him time to play golf with a great bunch of friends. He truly loved the game. Besides golf, he also enjoyed getting away every year to go Elk Hunting. He did this either in the mountains of Washington or Colorado with his great lifelong friend Gary Kenfield. He was married for a period of time to Sally and Julie and had a life partner, Connie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Carolyn (Sue ) Weaver, son’s William (Billy) Bendiksen and Jeffery Bendiksen.
He is survived by sister Janice Cooley (Gary), daughter Linda McIntosh (Tom), granddaughter Brittney Castro (Daniel), grandson Bryan McIntosh and great granddaughter Sophia Castro.
