GeorgeAnn Sims, age 80, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, March 5, 2019. Born Friday, September 30, 1938 she is proceeded in death by her husband: Jack Raymond Sims, her parents: George Nathan and Annie Ruth Howell McCue, her brother: James Albert McCue, and her sister: Billie Ruth Castle.

GeorgeAnn was a graduate of DuPont High School where she was an active member of the marching band. She played clarinet, a talent she passed on to her children and grandchildren. She was as lifelong animal lover and raised poodles for several years. She was active in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In her younger years, she enjoyed sewing, making dolls for the granddaughters, taking trips to the OpryLand Theme Park, and watching movies. Her love of movies continued throughout her life and is evidenced by her extensive DVD collection. She loved all things purple and her family.

Mrs. Sims is survived by her children, James (Debbie) Cowell, Barbara (Bob) Scheneck and Paul Cowell; grandchildren, Dan Cowell, Matt Cowell, Mark Cowell, Angela Slayton, Carie Cochrane; great-grandchildren, Jack Slayton, Ben Slayton, Sarah Jane Cowell, Charlotte Cowell, Reid Cowell, Emily Cochrane, Ryder Cochrane and Harper Jane Cowell.

A celebration of life will be conducted 2:00 Sunday, March 10, 2019 in the chapel at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends will gather to remember Mrs. Sims at a visitation Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 5:00 until 8:00 and Sunday 9:00 am until 2:00 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1150 South Dickerson Pike Goodlettsville, Tennessee 37072.
