Jere M. Taylor, age 83, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 in Lebanon, Tennessee. He was born Saturday, March 30, 1935 in Gibson County, Tennessee and graduated from Peabody High School in Trenton, Tennessee, Freed-Hardeman University, David Lipscomb University and George Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. He was retired from Metro Nashville Schools with 30 years of service. He worked at Cumberland and Maplewood High Schools as well as Tennessee Preparatory School. After retirement he was employed at Jackson Park Christian home in Nashville for seven years.

He was a member of Rome Church of Christ in Lebanon and was formerly a member of Bethany Church of Christ in Trenton and Jackson Park Church of Christ in Nashville.

He was preceded in death by parents, Finis Hess and Florence Campbell Taylor; wives Dolly Williams Taylor and Elsie Harris Ward Taylor and sister, Rosalind Taylor Davis. He is survived by daughters Angela Cantor (Eric) of Atlanta, GA and Amy Adams Davis (Ricky) of Lebanon, grandson Taylor Adams of Lebanon, stepson Gerald Ward (Vicky) of Burns, TN, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Family and friends will gather to remember Mr. Taylor at a visitation Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 4:00 until 8:00. Service will be at 10:00 Monday July 30, 2018 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1150 S. Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, Tennessee 37072

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rome Church of Christ, 840 Lebanon Hwy, Lebanon, Tennessee 37087.
