

Born on August 31,1951 to Jerome and Rita Weidl in Pittsburgh, PA, her family relocated to Orlando, FL, in 1963, where she happily stayed for the rest of her life.
Gerry Lou attended Valencia College and began her career at Sun Bank shortly after. She had a successful career with the organization, advancing through various positions during her 20+ year tenure. Later in life, she discovered her passion for Event Planning. Organizing events brought her immense joy, and she excelled at it. She planned many high school reunions for her alma mater, Evans High School, as well as countless weddings and other celebrations.
Gerry Lou lived a life filled with love, laughter and warmth. Despite the challenges of her last few months, she remained vivacious and treasured her family above all else. Her most cherished role was being "Nana" to her nine adoring grandchildren. She loved a party, and frequent family gatherings were a highlight of her life. Her passion for dancing and music was infectious, often bringing joy and energy to those around her. Always seen with a bright smile, her positive spirit and unwavering optimism touched everyone she met.
Gerry Lou was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and wife. She is survived by her daughters Tamara Cress (Richard), Jennifer Deese (Jason), Breanne Martinez (Carlos); grandchildren Lauren Duffy, Nicholas Duffy, Liam Duffy, Katelyn Duffy, Julia Duffy, Jenson Deese, Hadley Deese, Alex Martinez, Luke Martinez; siblings Tom Weidl (Linda) of Sanford, FL, Dan Weidl (Russie) of Lake Mary, FL, Colleen McNamara (Michael) of San Antonio, TX. She was predeceased by her husband, William “Bill” Kendall.
A celebration of life will be held on July 10th at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Rd, Gotha, FL 34734. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Gerry Lou’s honor.
