Shirley Ann (Hay) Holshek, 80, of Orlando died on Thursday, January 13, 2022. She was born in Melrose, MA to the late Lloyd R. and Dorothy (Talbot) Hay. Shirley was a breast cancer survivor. Her mission was to provide comfort and support to those who needed it most. In 1991, she retired from her human resources position at a bank and moved to sunny Orlando. In 1993, a visit to Especially for You Mastectomy Boutique for a breast prosthesis led to a Fitter/Managerial position. Although she was retired, the decision to take the job offer was easy because it would give Shirley the opportunity to meet more ladies who would benefit from her comforting disposition. Physicians would often call on her expertise for their patients’ support group meetings. She could also frequently be found working at the registration tables of breast cancer awareness walks with her husband, George by her side. In her spare time, Shirley enjoyed hobbies such as crocheting, scrap-booking, cross-stitching and sewing. She also made sure to squeeze in plenty of quality time to spend with her family. A beautiful woman with a heart of gold will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. Shirley is survived by George, her devoted husband of 60 years; her daughters: Kathleen Pequignot and husband Jeffrey and Karen Holshek-Gruver and husband Michael; her adored grandchildren: Caitlin Pequignot, Maddisen, Braxton and Brogan Gruver; her sisters: Lynda Hay-Van Vliet and husband Paul Van Vliet and Betty Hay Wickline and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Shirley was also predeceased by her sister-in-law, Audrey Holshek and brother-in-law Greg Wickline. In lieu of flowers. memorial donations in Shirley's name may be made to Breast Cancer Foundation of Central Florida (BCFCF) https://www.bcfcf.org/ or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org/
