Anita Louise Zalack

Anita Louise Zalack age 95 of Grand Blanc passed away Sept 23,2023. Anita was born in Dover Ohio to the late Joseph and Elvira (Zuchegno) Petrella. Anita married Louis Zalack in Massillon, Ohio in 1952.Shortly after their marriage Louis joined the Army and was stationed in Bavaria, Germany. Shortly after Anita boarded a ship and sailed over to join him. They remained there for 2 years until Louis was discharged. After returning to the U.S. they started their family. Anita was a wonderful homemaker, wife and mother. She was famous for her raisin filled cookies and banana cake that was always requested for birthday celebrations.

Anita and Louis shared many good memories of winters spent if Florida with dear friends. In her spare time Anita liked to play any kind of card game and was a mean bridge player. She also enjoyed trips to the casino and golf.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children; Michael Zalack, Thomas (Sandy) Zalack and Elizabeth (David) Ostrander, and grandchildren; Jason Zalack and Courtney (Jeremy) Driggett, great grandchildren Addison and luke. Anita was preceded in death by her husband Louis Michael Zalack, parents; Joseph and Elvira Petrella, sister; Mary (Molly) and brothers Vincent , Frank and Jack.

A funeral visitation for Anita will be held Friday, September 29, 2023 at 9:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 S Saginaw St, Grand Blanc, Michigan, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

A special thank you to the staff of Vicinia Gardens of Fenton for taking such good care of mom. Burial for Anita will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date .
