Della Rae Ehlers

Della Rae Ehlers, age 87, of Grand Junction, Colorado passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023. Della was born on October 1, 1936 in Ft. Meade, South Dakota to John Everett Howard and Agnes Lucille Carroll Howard. She spent her childhood in Junction City, Kansas where she graduated from St. Xavier High School and went on to receive her Registered Nurse degree from Marymount College in Salina, Kansas. Della married her loving husband, William Ehlers on October 17, 1970 in Las Vegas, Nevada and has been a resident of Grand Junction since 1974. She worked as a Registered Nurse for 42 years and served as the Health Services Director at the Grand Junction Regional Center until her retirement. In her leisure time, Della enjoyed fishing, camping, and sewing.

Della is preceded in death by her husband William Ehlers; her parents, John and Agnes Howard; and her sister, Mary Glasgow.

Survivors include her children, Thomas M. Ehlers and wife Shelly, Daniel J. Ehlers and wife Diane, and Dianna K. Dumont and husband Lyle; 8 Grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life for Della will be held at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, Grand Junction, CO on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
