Doris Eileen Mansur

Doris was born in Brush, Colorado and passed away at Hopewest Hospice in Grand Junction, Colorado at the age of 89. She has lived in Grand Junction for 52 years and as a school teacher, taught many students. Doris graduated from Colorado Women’s College where she attained a Master’s Degree in Primary Education. Doris had an amazing sense of humor and had many hobbies – quilting, playing pool, bowling, fishing and loved travelling. She was involved in numerous groups – Sunset Quilters, VFW, Bowling and child evangelism. She was a church member of the First Baptist Church in Grand Junction, Colorado. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Joe L Mansur. She is survived by her sons John (Vickie) Mansur of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; Paul (Cindy) Mansur of Lamar, Colorado; daughters Joyce Edson of Fort Morgan, Colorado and Jannette (Larry) Frohock of New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Doris has 11 grandchildren, 19 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild. Grandchildren: Terri (Larry) Miracle, Melonie Black, Amber Boudreaux, Derek Frohock, Anja Frohock, Sonja Frohock, Jessica Mansur, Lisa Maestas, Josh Mansur, Lindsey Reuber and D.J. Mansur. Great-great grandchildren: Tony Miracle, Cassy Miracle, Connie Miracle, Nathan Miracle, Joshua Miracle, Madison Black, Madeleine Boudreaux, Cruz Maestas, Sayge Vela, Donovan Maestas, Amari Maestas, Ezekiel Mansur, Atticus Mansur, Xanthus Joe Mansur, Josh (JR) Mansur, Olevia Reuber, Ryleigh Reuber, Madelyn Reuber and Paxton Mansur. Great-great-great grandchild: Auri Miracle. A Memorial Service will be held at 10am on Friday June 7, 2019 at the First Baptist Church, 720 Grand Avenue, Grand junction, Colorado 81501. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to the First Baptist Church.

What a go getter Doris was! I had the opportunity to know Doris through Mahjong and quilting. She was always so busy with all her activities getting a time with her could almost be possible. I will miss her so much as will the rest of her world. Take care I’m thinking of you.
