Jack Leroy Suter February 11, 1928 – July 18, 2013 Jack passed away peacefully at home, July 18, surrounded by his wife and family. He was born to Russell and Flora Suter on February 11, 1928, in Carnegie, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Blake. His early years were spent in Oklahoma. He graduated from Eakly High School and attended the Jr. College in Carnegie. Jack served in the Navy from 1946 to 1947. On July 16, 1949, he married Hattie B. Kelley in Wheeler, Texas. In 1959, they moved to Palisade, Colorado and made it their home for over 54 years as peach farmers. Jack had a passion for farming peaches. During the latest harvests, he volunteered his time helping his friends at the fruit stands. Jack was a member of the Elks Lodge #236, and enjoyed watching baseball on TV. He played baseball in the Navy and various other leagues. After his playing days were over, he became a fan of the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, playing ball. He spent time fishing and hunting. Jack was fond of his front porch, a place for: fish fries, homemade ice cream, watching the rabbits and quails gather, family and friends. Jack is survived by his wife, Hattie Bell Suter; three sons, Brad (Cyndi) Suter; Bruce (Julie) Suter, and Brian (Yvonne) Suter; three daughters, Saundra (Roy) Bradley; Rhonda (Greg) Crawford, and DeAnne (Kenny) Kreie; brother, Dwayne (Carol) Suter, and sister, Joycle King. He also leaves 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren to cherish his memories. There will be a Celebration of Jack's life on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Martin Mortuary at 10:30a.m. A graveside service will follow at 1:00p.m. at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery with honors at the shelter.
