Margaret Coston, age 100, died on Thursday, September 13, 2018, in Grand Junction, Colorado. She was born on October 3, 1917, on a ranch northeast of Fruita to Clarence C. and Faye (Botkin) Parish. She graduated from Fruita High School in 1935, and then attended Ross Business School in Denver.
On January 16, 1942, she married Conrad Sikes, and their daughter Ilene was born the following year. Conrad died in August 1969. Margaret then married Semer Coston, in July 1970. Semer died in October 1979. Her daughter Ilene died in 1989.
Margaret is survived by three granddaughters, Chris (David) Fuller, Tanya Smith, and Jennifer (John) Frazer; a brother, Dale (Jane) Parish; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Conrad and Semer; daughter, Ilene Sikes; sister, Betty Buniger; and brother, Lee Parish.
Margaret inspired her family with her strength and strong convictions. She was known for her fantastic storytelling and was passionate about painting, traveling, and reading.
Services will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary in Grand Junction. Private burial services will be held later. Memorial Contributions can be made to HopeWest Hospice or to Beehive Assisted Living in Grand Junction.
