Marilyn Theos Sullivan
February 15, 1943 – July 29, 2018
Marilyn “Mickey” Theos Sullivan passed away July 29 at HopeWest in Grand Junction, CO. She was born on February 15, 1943, to Sophia Gavalas Theos and Gus “Deno” Theos in Delta, CO. She graduated in 1961 from Grand Junction High School, and attended Chandler School for Women in Boston, MA. She worked for Raytheon in Boston in those years when space exploration was just beginning. It was an exciting time for her. In 1974 she moved to Vail, CO, to open a Greek restaurant and bar with her sister, Katie. She left in 1980 to take a job with Mobil Oil and was moved with the company to Dallas in 1984. Later she was the Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Environmental at Exxon Oil. In 1991 she attended her 30th class reunion in Grand Junction where she reunited with her true love, Dan Sullivan. They married in 1993. She was blessed to spend her childhood summers at a sheep ranch above Paonia, and her teen years and beyond on Cape Cod. She is survived by her sisters, Katie Theos, and Eleni Theos Stelter; her two nephews, Deno and Demitri Stelter; and many cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Denver Rescue Mission, PO Box 5164, Denver, CO 80217. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 2, from 5-7:30PM at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, with a Trisaigon at 7:30PM. Funeral services will be held at St. Nicholas at 10AM on Friday, August 3, with burial to follow at Memorial Gardens.
