Steve Jose Alire Jr. was born in Glenwood Springs, CO to parents, Steve Alire Sr. and Darlene Griego. He had a brother Darrell J. Alire. Steve tragically passed Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at his home in Grand Junction, CO. Recently vehicles he worked on were shown at Barrett-Jackson Automotive Auctions. He loved his family and he loved his dogs. In his spare time he was usually helping others or at one of his favorite pool halls hustling a game and cracking jokes. He married his high school sweetheart, Arlinda A. Cordova, of Grand Junction on September 14, 1989. Together they raised two boys, Matthew S. Alire and Ben C. Alire. He is survived by all three: Arlinda and Ben Alire of Grand Junction, and Matthew Alire of Denver. He is also survived by nieces, Zilenna and Taliyah Alire. He was preceded in death by brother, Darrell J. Alire; mother, Darlene A. Alire; and father, Steve J. Alire Sr. A viewing will be held at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary on Thursday, March 26 from 9am to 4:00pm with a maximum of 10 people at a time due to CDC Covid-19 Regulations. Cremation will take place the following day. A graveside service and burial will take place at 11am on Saturday, March 28 at Orchard Mesa Cemetery, 2620 Legacy Way, Grand Junction, CO 81503. Steve was someone I could always count on to cross any room we were in just to give me a big hug, flash that beautiful smile and tell me something funny. I loved his food porn too.

I know he was a good man with a big heart - we had a couple long talks which showed me this.

Steve, I’m praying for your beautiful wife and sons and all your family.

Rest In Peace - you will be missed by all who really knew you.
