Cook. Vernon grew up in Brighton, CO working on the family dairy farm, picking beets, and cotton. He entered the Army in 1958 and became a Sargent (E-5) (T) in 1961 and was Honorably Discharged in 1964. He married Noela J. Hubert on May 15, 1965. He is survived by his wife, three of their four children, seven of their eight grandchildren, as well as, three great grandchildren, one sister and various nieces and nephews. Vernon worked for the Rio Grande Railroad for 40 years. He loved being at home with his family, watching the Broncos game and sharing crazy stories from his childhood. He loved his large extended family, kept in contact and helped when he could. He enjoyed fishing, going to Las Vegas, watching John Wayne westerns, and of course the Broncos.
He was a man of heart. Vernon was loved dearly and will be greatly missed but certainly never forgotten. Vernon passed away at 8:55am December 11, 2018 from natural causes. His memories and heart will live on in each of us.
