Antonio John Lawrence, age 80, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020 in Arlington, Texas. Antonio was born January 20, 1940 to John and Mary Lawrence.

As a long time resident of Grand Prairie, Tony worked for Grand Prairie ISD for many years. He proudly served on the Grand Prairie Parks and Recreation Board and served on various other committees in Grand Prairie.

Tony was married to Lupita Moreno Gonzalez for 12 years. She was his soulmate and eternal love. Tony was a good friend to many people and enjoyed cooking for others. He loved animals, and because he did, he donated to the Grand Prairie Animal Shelter on a regular basis. His generosity also supported St. Jude's Children's Hospital, as well. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

Tony is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Lawrence.

Tony is survived by his daughter Marnie, his granddaughter Lily, his son David, and his sister Mary

Due to the current State and Federal mandates regarding the Covid-19 Virus, the familly regrets that we will not be able to hold a traditional funeral service for Tony.

Mr. Lawrence was a great principal at GPHS. Funny to me was that he is the one Principal who popped my rear end with a paddle...and I deserved it. Godspeed Mr. Lawrence.
