Bruce Colbert Sutton Jr., age 67 passed away on Monday March 5, 2018 in Dallas, Texas. Bruce was born August 31, 1950 in San Antonio, Texas to Bruce Colbert, Sr. and Fleta Coy Goodbar. Mr. Sutton grew up in Alpine, Texas and graduated from Alpine High School, where he played football, in 1968. He entered the US Navy and served 6 years during Vietnam as a Naval Fireman, and was stationed off the coast of Vietnam on a destroyer.
Bruce attended Mountain View College in Dallas and the University of Texas at Arlington. He met his wife, Hazel, and they married May 11, 1984. He loved watching, and was an avid fan, of the Dallas Cowboys, (he bled blue and silver) loved deer hunting, and fishing on a pontoon. He was meticulous, had a dry sense of humor, organized, and enjoyed being with his family. He was a generous member of the American Legion.
Bruce is preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Hazel Sutton.
Bruce is survived by his sister, Sue Easley; brother, William A. Sutton; step-children, Don McCallister, Jimmy McCallister, Delbert McCallister, Bobby McCallister and Violet Burnett; nieces and nephews; Stacy Pool, Charlotte Haddak, Katrina Bushdiecher and Janel Fahey; numerous grand and great-grand children.
A visitation for Bruce will be held Friday, March 9, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home, 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. A committal service will take place Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 1:00 PM at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 N. Davis Dr, Arlington, TX 76012.
