Reverend Cosme Abuloc Pacot was born in Cabadbaran, Philippines to Januaria and Leon Pacot on September 27, 1927. He passed away in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 92 years old.

He attended Silliman University in Dumaguete City, Philippines as a full-time student. He supported himself through college working as a dishwasher in the cafeteria, dormitory custodian and post-master until he graduated from the seminary. He was ordained as Minister of the Gospel in 1958 at the age of 31.

During his time at Silliman University, Cosme met Caridad Parreño. The two were married on March 18, 1954. They have four children, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Cosme was a Minister of the Gospel in the United Church of Christ in the Philippines for 15 years serving mainly the Surigao City church. He was elected and served for 6 years as District Superintendent for the Surigao Conference. As Superintendent he was responsible for the spiritual growth and well-being of 28 local pastors and 68 churches.

He came to the USA in 1972 as a “Fraternal Worker in Residence” sponsored by First Presbyterian Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He traveled and preached in the midwestern states to share his ministry in the Philippines. He also attended the American Baptist Seminary for post-graduate work, all while working two jobs in order to support himself and his family in the Philippines. He eventually received his Master of Divinity from Eden Theological Seminary.

Cosme was joined by his wife and children after almost two years of absence. He accepted his first call as pastor of the United Presbyterian Church in Auburn, Nebraska and also later served other Presbyterian churches. In addition, he served a short stint with the United Methodist churches in Missouri.

Cosme retired in 1993 after 42 years of faithful service in the ministry. He happily transitioned to support his children and their spouses care for the grandchildren. In addition, he continued to be an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Arlington.
