Steven grew up in Milan, TN where he attended Milan High School. During school he met Teresa through a friend. They were married August 14, 1984 and celebrated 34 years together. He attended Jackson State Community College, Bethel College and Union University.
While living in Tennessee he was a member of the Methodist church and in April of 1994 the family relocated to Texas. Steven was a communication technician and spent 26 years working for ATT. He enjoyed family vacations, especially white water rafting in New Mexico, camping and most outdoor activities. He was left handed, a loving husband and supportive father. He could be stubborn yet extremely big hearted, stern but soft all at the same time. Recently he enjoyed shopping online and roaming Facebook but his greatest passion was spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his father Willis Hornsby.
Survived by his wife, Teresa Hornsby, sons: Kevin Hornsby and his wife, Candance, Adam Hornsby, Brent Hornsby and his wife, Macalah; grandsons: Julian Hornsby, Tyson Hornsby, Benny Hornsby and expecting 1; mother Sara Frances Hornsby, brother Sid Hornsby, sister Brenda Palmer and her husband, Lyle, step-brother Gene Tidwell, step-sister Paulette Wright and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Steven will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050, with a funeral service at 3:00 PM.
