OBITUARY

Cecille Jean Hire

November 27, 1921December 5, 2017

Cecille Jean Hire, née Moreau, daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother, passed away on December 5, 2017. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Hire and her son Brian L. Hire. She is survived by her children Laura and Brenton Hire; grandchildren Cicely and Maggie, and beloved nieces and nephews. Cecille will be remembered for the many aspects of her life: a wife, a teacher, a mother and grandmother. She was the first dental hygienist to graduate from Ferris State College. Cecille was a co-proctor of her Sarasota church and a brain injury advocate. She was always the person in the back getting things done while others talked about it. Cecille was gifted hostess and consummate friend, known for her generosity and kindness. She was admired for her ability to always see both sides of an issue and never display judgement. Cecille was an engaging conversationalist and had a deep love of a good joke. She also enjoyed her many adventures and travels during her years of service as a spy. A memorial service will be held at Klise Memorial Chapel at East Congregational Church on Saturday December 16, 2017 at 11:00 am. Cecille loved flowers, but was a practical person. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Choice Fund at Fountain Street Church (24 Fountain Street NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503) or Mote Marine Research Lab of Sarasota (1600 Ken Thompson Pkwy, Sarasota, FL 34236).
