Jeanne M. Marr

Jeanne Mary Marr, age 70, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on December 12, 2016 while in the company of her family. Jeanne was born in Muskegon, MI in the winter of 1946 to the late Lauren and Florence Black. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband John, her daughters Jacqueline (Armando) Perez, Marylee (Mitch) Jackson and Carmen Marie (Mario) Alva, 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Jeanne is also survived by her brother Dennis (Sheila) Black and their daughter Emily, her brother Larry (Susan) Black, mother-in-law Marie Graham, many in-laws, as well as their very special friend Melanie Ackerman, who was Jeanne's maid of honor at their wedding. Jeanne was a longtime member of St. Alphonsus Parish and devoted to her faith. She was a dedicated employee for 45 years of Old Kent, now Fifth Third Bank, until her retirement. Jeanne’s passions and hobbies included camping, hiking and being in nature. She also loved to read. Jeanne was very family oriented and always putting her family first. Please join the family for a time of visitation at Reyers North Valley Chapel on Friday December 16, 2016 from 5-8pm, with a rosary service at 7:30pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Alphonsus Parish (224 Carrier St. Ne, Grand Rapids, MI 49505) on Saturday December 17, 2016 at 1pm. An additional hour of visitation will be held at the church prior to the mass beginning at 12pm. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial contribution in Jeanne’s name to either The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (60 East 56th Street, 8th floor, New York, NY 10022) or St. Jude Children Research Hospital (501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105).
