When I sang in the Unity choir a few years ago, Mary and I sang tenor along with Bob Wright as our anchor and sporadically other men. I remember those times fondly...

Mary was a dear friend for many years. We served together as board members at Unity of Grand Rapids back in the 1990's and sang in the choir at Unity Church of Peace in Ada. Mary sang tenor. While Mary was at choir, Mary's husband Tom and my husband Art would join a group of friends for a guy dinner and Mary and I would go to dinner after choir. So many lovely evenings together. So many lovely memories.

I remember well the day I met Mary. I arrived at their house to have my wedding photo for the press taken. It was 1976. No digital cameras or internet to share pictures. Tom & Mary shot our wedding as well. Many years passed but our paths crossed again 30 years later at Unity Church if Peace.
I would come to know them as friends.
Mary will always stand out in my mind as strong, confident, loving and devoted to Tom, and even a tad stubborn. She always smelled good and was generous almost to a fault. I am glad our paths crossed. I know in my heart her transition was smooth. Blessings and comfort to friends and family.
