OBITUARY
Ardith Ondersma
August 12, 1936 – January 6, 2021
Ardith Ondersma, age 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 6, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Ondersma. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Michael) Emery; son, William Joling; grandchildren Jason Emery, Zachary (Haley) Troyer, Meagan (Steven) Merdzinski, Zina Emery, Renton Joling; sisters Ruth Meilstrup of Sante Fe, NM and MariBeth (Niko) Alexandrou of Boston, MA; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Ardith lived a life of love and devotion to her Lord and family. She was the most supportive mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed road trips across the U.S. with Art in their Model A, visits to see her beloved sisters in Boston and New Mexico, and numerous bus trips with friends. Ardith kept busy singing in her church choir as a longtime member of Rosewood Reformed Church. She enjoyed her Bible studies at Rosewood Reformed and later Blythefield Baptist Church when she could no longer travel to Rosewood.
Ardie enjoyed fellowship and made many memories as a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved to joke with staff at Boulder Creek Assisted Living where she spent her final years. The family would like to thank all her caregivers, with a special mention to Kathy, Carmen, Mumina, and Devan who became family to Ardie.
Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at the Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, Michigan. A private family service was held (link to video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgqxEcxZCKw&feature=youtu.be) with interment following at Georgetown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Ardith, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association West Michigan Chapter, 213 Sheldon Blvd, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcaresgrandville.com.

I connected with Ardie at Blythefield church when we attended there. It was a nice connection because she was married to my mother's brother. We did not know each other well, but I remember her smile and gracious attitude. We are very aware of the pandemic so we will not be attending the funeral. See you in heaven Ardie.

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." I have so many happy memories of Ardie. She was my inspiration to play hymns at Boulder Creek . She loved our bible studies and widow's get-togethers. You took great care of her Sharon. So glad she is rejoicing now with our Savior!

The family of Wayne and Marilyn Youngquist send condolences and prayers. My dad has wonderful memories of good times, which transferred through the sale of Ardith's Model A Ford to him! Its still on the road today carrying on her tradition.
May God rest Ardith's lovely soul and grant her loved ones His own peace.
