Lucia Hybarger, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at home in Trophy Club, Texas in the evening of April 19th. Born on March 17, 1943 in Argentina, Lucy came to the USA in 1971 in an exchange teacher program with Argentina. She was employed as a teacher in South Carolina where she met her future husband, Richard Hybarger. Following their mariage on April 8, 1972, they lived in Decatur, Illinois , Friendswood, Texas and Palestine, Texas prior to moving to Trophy Club with their family in 2008.
A strong believer in the Catholic faith, she actively participated with her husband at the Outreach Center at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Grapevine, Texas. She was a devoted mother to her three children, supporting the kids through school work, sports and numerous other activities. She was a world traveler and excelled in ballroom dancing. She was known by her children to be the caregiver to all the animals in her neighborhood.
Lucy had a stubborn determination about her and it was that strength of character and her hope in Christ that helped her overcome 13 years of cancer diagnosis and treatments so that she could spend as much time with her children as possible. She literally willed herself to stay alive so that she could faithfully serve as a light for her family and friends. We are relieved that her battle has come to an end and that she has found peace.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; sons, Steven and Glen; daughter, Clarissa Wallace; four grand daughters, Olivia, Sophia, Madison, and Lauren; and one grandson, Alexander. She is also survived by her brother, Armando Lizza, of Argentina. She was preceded in death by her father Armando Lizza, her mother Lucia Lizza, and her sister, Anna.
Visitation will be Sunday April 28rd from 5 to 7 PM at the J E Foust & Son Funeral Home , 523 S. Main St., Grapevine, Tx.. A funeral Mass will be held Monday April 29th at 11:00AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Grapevine. Interment will follow at 1:30PM at the DFW National Cemetary.
