Carmelita was born to Sam and Mildred Lybyer on May 9, 1926. She was raised by her Aunt and Uncle, U.A. and Alma Crawford in Houston, MO. She married Harry Koch on December 14, 1945. They celebrated 68 years of marriage until Harry’s death in 2013. Carmelita was a resident of Milliken from 1947 until 2019.
Carmelita was well known by many Milliken-Johnstown residents as the Customer Service Representative for Public Service Company of Colorado (Xcel Energy). She retired after 25 years of service. She enjoyed a variety of crafts from quilting, sewing, and sand pictures to gardening. She and her husband had an upholstery business, H & C Upholstery, recovering furniture, car interior, and bicycle seats for neighborhood children.
Carmelita is preceded in death by her husband Harry Koch, daughters Carol Lee Dyke and Diana Kay Koch. She is survived by sons Donald (wife Sharon) and Gary Koch, grandchildren Shon Koch (wife Becky and family), Stephanie Fedak (husband Bob), Sondra Walbert (husband Jason and family) Tera Davey and six (6) great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 4, 2019 at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 West 28th Street, Greeley. Inurnment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
