July 9, 1930 – May 2, 2021
Esther Mirich of LaSalle, Colorado was called home by her Heavenly Father on May 2, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.
Esther was one of fourteen children born to Gottfred and Lydia Kuntz on July 9, 1930 in Montana. She graduated from Harlem High School and then moved to Rock Springs Wyoming. It was there that she met the true love of her life, Pete Mirich. The two were married on August 30, 1952 in Cody, Wyoming. Following their marriage, they moved to Greeley, Colorado and then settled in LaSalle, Colorado. To this union were born three children, Debbie, Brad and Barb.
Esther always enjoyed working and held various jobs, but her most memorable jobs included working in a dental lab, for the telephone company, as a daycare provider and for several banks in LaSalle. She enjoyed so much in life, but her greatest achievement and enjoyment was her family. She loved watching her children and grandchildren participate in many various activities and spending the holidays with them. Her great and great-great grandchildren were her true joys. In her earlier years, she enjoyed reading, sewing and doing puzzles. Esther was an avid Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies fan and never missed watching a game. Her faith was equally important in her life. She was a long-time member of the Shepard of the Valley Lutheran Church in LaSalle, Colorado, and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary in Cody, Wyoming.
Her family, along with all who knew her, will miss her loving kindness. Four generations of family were blessed by her wise and endearing maternal guidance.
She is survived by her three children, Debbie Rude, Brad (Linda) Mirich, and Barb (Del) Farrer. Grandchildren- April (Jay) Serl, Heath (Lydia) Boyes, Jess (Matt) Brien, Danno (Maddie) Rude, Ben (Katie) Rude, Jenna Rude, Todd (Rachael) Mirich, Zachary Mirich, Kristin (Drew) Lamb, Andy Farrer, Laura (Brandon) Guddal. Great-grandchildren- Tasha (Taylor) Wilson, Cyera Heaton, Jayson and Jayden Serl, Kennedy, Kambrie Andja and Emma Boyes, Harry Guddal and Addie and Penny Brien and Milo Rude. Great great-grandchild- Remington Wilson. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Pete, brothers Jake, Art, Lud, Don, Leonard, Edward, Melvin and sisters, Christine, Lillian, Carol, Elsie, Martha, and Becky.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private celebration of life will be held for the family on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at Allnutt Macy Chapel in Greeley, Colorado. Following the memorial service there will be an interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, in Greeley, Colorado at noon that will be open to those who would like to pay their respects to Esther and the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Attn: Co300, Susan G. Komen, 13770 Noel Rd., Ste. 801889 Dallas, TX 75380 or to Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 225 S. 6th Street, La Salle, CO. 80645

Dear Debbie, Brad, and Barb,
So sorry to read of your Mom's passing. She was such a sweet person and I enjoyed visiting with her about each of you during parent/teacher conferences when you were at North Valley Middle School. She was so helpful in setting up field trips to the bank in LaSalle where she worked when I would take eighth grade field trips there; she pointed out the camera that was used to record visitors and shared so many of the services that the bank provided. The LaSalle community is now without two of their finest citizens with the passing of both Pete and Esther. My sincere sympathy goes to each of you and your families.
