Kiyoshi "Bob" Mitani, 100, of Greeley, CO, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at North Colorado Medical Center. He was born March 7, 1923 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Masatoshi and Istu (Yamamoto) Mitani.
After serving in the Army as a Paratrooper during World War II, Bob farmed in Idaho with all of his family. Bob loved to fish the Salmon River in Idaho. He later moved to Colorado. When he first arrived in Colorado he enjoyed going big game hunting, if he shot anything he would give it away. Bob worked as a farmer and then went on to work as a welder. On November 16, 1996, Bob married Gloria Baldez.
Bob was a member of the VFW. He enjoyed ice fishing and any other type of fishing and hunting mushrooms.
Bob is survived by his wife, Gloria; son, Bob Tokuyasu; sisters, Aki, Alice and Mieko; one grandson, Brandon and one great-grandson, Kai.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2023 followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. both at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
