Roberta Kurzyna

Roberta Kurzyna, 100 of La Salle, passed away April 24, 2018 at Life Care Center in Greeley. R hioberta was born February 20, 1918 in La Salle, CO, to Robert Thomas and Cora Olive (Allen) Kidd. She married Theodore Kurzyna on February 1, 1939 in Greeley, CO. Theodore died November 2, 1988.

Roberta graduated from high school in Kersey, CO in 1936. She helped on her family farm and worked as a cook in the school system for over 20 years. She was a 4-H leader for 40 years, was a member of St. Peters Quilting Group, the Big Ben Club, St. Peters Church and the Aubern Club. She was the joyed being the “taxi service” for seven kids, sewing, crafts, reupholstering furniture and needle work.

She is survived by her sons, Richard and Tom Kurzyna; daughters Natalie Lawhead, Nancy Henderson, Peg Swanson and Shirley Lokacharya.; she is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her daughter, Betty Binkley.

A visitation will be held from 6-7:00 P.M. Monday, April 30, 2018 followed by the Rosary starting at 7:00 at the Allnutt Macy Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Greeley.
