Shirley Anne Klady
November 22, 1928 – December 4, 2018
Shirley Anne Klady, 90, of Greeley, passed away December 4, 2018 at NCMC. Shirley was born to Ralph and Ethel (Swartz) Stewart in Hutchinson, KS on November 22, 1928. Through family friends, she met her husband S.L. "George" Klady and they married on September 1, 1950 in Sterling, Kansas.
Shirley grew up in Southwestern Kansas during the "Dust Bowl", then later moved to Colorado with her folks, graduating from Littleton High School and Colorado Woman's College. Shirley taught elementary school in Alden, KS for a few years. She and George later moved to Colorado making Greeley their home.
Shirley and George loved to travel, spending their fifty-nine years visiting all fifty states and Canada. They enjoyed the winters in Mesa, AZ as "Snowbirds".
She loved to cook and bake. Her pie crusts were the most tender and flakey. She loved gatherings with family and friends. Anyone she met would feel her love!
Shirley made beautiful quilts and loved to knit. She enjoyed playing cards and games.
Shirley was a member of the United Methodist Church and TOPS #158 in Greeley, serving as weight recorder for several years.
Shirley is survived by her sons, Stewart (Tamy Pierce) Klady, Steven Klady, Scott (Kathy Thomas) Klady, and Stanley (Kim) Klady; son-in-law, Stephen Cowles, family friend, Lesa Dechant; grandchildren, Russell (Meghan) Klady, Spencer Cowles, Courteney (Travis) Perdue, Hannah (Kennedy) Ochieng, and Ean Klady; great-grandchildren, Leila Klady, Gabriel Ochieng, and Malkia Ochieng; nieces, Beverly York, Shirley Shetter, Eileen Huckabey and nephew, Greg Martin.
She is preceded in death by her husband, S.L "George" Klady; daughter Sue Cowles and infant son, Carl.
Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 17, 2018 at Allnutt Macy Chapel.

We are so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. Your Mom was special because she was a Shirley. We enjoyed her when she was part of the Shirley Club several years ago. May God give you his comfort and peace.
