Gladys was born in Hendricks County on January 3, 1928 the daughter of Dewey Stevens and Lula Ann (Jones) Stevens-Boatright, and attended Roachdale High School.
Mrs. Templeman was a member of Roachdale Baptist Church and Eastern Star. She and her husband loved to visit state parks, and were avid campers. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and reading books.
Survivors include her three children, Shirley McFarland, (Glen), Crawfordsville, George W. Templeman, (Janice), Roachdale, and Dudley Templeman, (Ann), Crawfordsville; a sister, Mary Schmit, Danville; seven grandchildren, Sherry Wilson (David), Jennifer Moody, (Eric), Chad Templeman, Bryan Templeman, Lisa Garver, (Andy), Kevin Templeman, (Jeannine), Jared Templeman, (Megan); eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a step-brother, Jim Boatright; a step-sister, Janice Dudley; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, George L. Templeman; a son, Robert Templeman; two brothers, Desmond Stevens, and John Stevens; and a sister, Edith Blye.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with Pastor Buck Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Boone-Hutcheson Cemetery. Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. until time of service Friday.
