He retired from MECO.
He was a member of Susong Memorial Church, where he taught the Men’s Sunday School Class.
Mr. Seaton was a member of Beersheba Masonic Lodge and Baileyton Eastern Star. He served in the U.S. Army. His love was to go to the nursing home each Wednesday night to sing with Susong Memorial Choir.
Survivors include the love of his life for 27 years: Susie Seaton; daughter and son-in-law: Debbie and Steve Lucas of Greeneville; son: Rickey Joe Seaton and his fiancé, April Habberstad of Greeneville; granddaughter: Angel Fulton and husband, Travis, of Greeneville; grandson: Rickey Joe Seaton of Greeneville; great granddaughter: Emma Fulton of Greeneville; two step daughters: Bonnie Southerland and husband, Terry, of Parrottsville, and Penny Way and husband, Gary, of Greeneville; stepson: Bobbie Gilland and wife, Angel; four step granddaughters: Allison Buckner and husband, David, Brandi Way, Chelsey and Katlin Slager; step grandson: Casey Southerland and wife, Casey; two step great granddaughters: Renesmme Buckner and Sophia Jones; three sisters: Maxine Lowery Jones, Joyce Wilhoit and husband, Burel, of Greeneville, and Barbara Payne and husband, R.J., of Johnson City; brothers: Lawrence and Lenton Seaton; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend: Wayne “Runt” Riddle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Maggie Seaton, and two infant sisters.
The family will receive friends from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8pm Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Clay Wilkerson and Rev. Sam Smith officiating.
Interment will be at 11am Saturday at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at 10:15am Saturday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mickey Lowery, Daniel Lowery, Timmy Seaton, Josh Wilhoit, Bobby Gilland, and Rickey Joe Seaton.
Honorary pallbearers are members of Susong Memorial Sunday School Class, Susong Memorial Singers of Nursing Home, early breakfast gang at McDonald’s, Beersheba Masonic Lodge, and Baileyton Eastern Star.
