A memorial service celebrating Dale’s life will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. The family will receive friends from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm prior to the service.
A native of Burlington, NC, Dale attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he proudly played basketball for Dean Smith from 1969 until 1971. In the years following his graduation, he began his 35 year career with Nike Athletic Shoes, where he made many cherished friends.
Dale’s passions in his life included his family, friends, traveling, Carolina basketball, golf, golf, and more golf. Above all else, he loved making people smile. Everyone who knew Dale will remember his sense of humor and infectious laugh. A generous and thoughtful man, he constantly went out of his way to brighten the days of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 40 years, Debbie; his two children, Spencer and Emmie; brother, Arthur and sister-in-law, Dona; along with countless other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers or memorials, please pay a good deed forward, make someone smile, and as Dale would say, “Have a Tip Top Day”.
