Delmer A Bender

Delmer A. Bender age 85, of Greenville passed away at 12:03 am Saturday, January 22, 2022, at his residence. Delmer was born June 11, 1936, in Darke County to the late Harry O. & Flora (Fremd) Bender. In addition to his parents, his son, Douglas Bender also preceded him in death. Delmer is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lois (Robbins) Bender; daughter, Diane Bender of Sidney; grandchildren, Nicole & Chris Rinehart of Trotwood and Ty & Kelly Bender of Arcanum; great grandchildren, Joshua Bender, Lilly Bender and Noah Bender; and a sister, Wilma Miller. Delmer owned and operated a mowing service for 23 years, was a truck driver and worked at Emery Air & Freight. Delmer retired from the Darke County Home where he was groundskeeper. He was a member of Woodington Congregational Christian Church. Delmer was an avid John Deere enthusiast, loved tinkering in his barn and enjoyed camping. A private funeral service will be held at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Jim Fulton officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery.
